I have just received a care package from my long-time friend Mike who resides in California.
The package contained some cool Asian snacks and teas.
Green Tea Cookies
Red Date and Herbal Grass-flavored Tea Bricks
He also sent me a handful of Lychee seeds.
I have never had Lychee fruit before, but what these seeds will become looks like this:
Mike is a fan of Muscadine Grapes which are native to the Southeast, but difficult to find where he lives.
I have been harvesting and eating the grapes as they have ripened.
In the spirit of reciprocating one Super Fruit for another, I have been drying and saving the seeds to send out West with the hope that they will germinate for him.
I’ve been growing these grapes organically, completely free of fertilizers or pesticides.
I planted these vines about 18 months ago, when they were about 1 foot tall each.
Hopefully, Mike will eventually be enjoying his own home-grown Muscadines.
Thanks for the thoughtful gifts, Mike!
I am enjoying a cup of Jasmine Tea right this moment!
How fun! I need someone to swap gifts with!
Hey Smitha!
It’s neat, like having a pen-pal, but better. I see you are over on that side of the states as well. Thanks for reading and commenting!
That’s such a cute idea for a swap!
I love trying foods and little treats from different places!
Thanks, MG! He is a great friend!
