Aside from my Bell Pepper plants, my garden isn’t really producing anything at the moment. So I am currently getting my produce from a local, organic produce store that is about a 10 minute walk from my house.
It’s kind of like a perpetual farmer’s market!
The store is small, but it has what I need. Their set-up is aesthetically pleasing and they have excellent prices-significantly cheaper than large grocery stores.
Yay for Pumpkins!
This past week mom made a from-scratch pumpkin pie for Halloween. She has been experimenting with a lot of gluten-free and alternative recipes, so if it is a good recipe, I will post it. She has loaded me up on a lot of yummy raw desserts lately. So far, my favorite is her Almond Butter Cookie Dough. Second runner up is Gluten-free “Mock”Almond Joys. As soon as I get my hands on the recipes, I will post them. I have a food-processor, so I really need to get it together and start making these myself. Most of the desserts she makes have no gluten, no sugar and no dairy. They are also usually only made up of about 3 ingredients, so really I have no excuse not to learn how to make these treats.
Perrine’s is one of the 5 things I am grateful for today. The other 4 are my parents, running, sunshine and BEING ALIVE!!
What are you grateful for today?
P.S. Happy Halloween!
